It's a blog. Short for "web log." Fair warning, this page is liable to have harsher language than the rest of the site, so if you can't handle swearing (or are a youngin'), you might want to go back a page.

The Blog Question Challenge! I was tagged by Flamed to answer these questions, but anyone who wants to answer them can. :)

Why Did You Start Blogging In The First Place?

Honestly I just like keeping a bit of a diary of events in my life, and sharing them with others. I have a bad memory, so keeping a record is really helpful for me (when I remember to do it).

What Platform Are You Using To Manage Your Blog, And Why Do You Use It?

I just use Zonelets to organize it, directly on my site. My site's hosted on Neocities, which is a static site host, so I update it by adding pages and coding manually.

Have You Blogged On Other Platforms Before?

Oh sure. Once upon a time, in the long long ago, I blogged on LiveJournal, pretty regularly and for many years. That's long gone now with LJ being bought out and the English-speaking communities on there pretty much all dying, at least the ones I was a part of. I moved to Dreamwidth for a while, but didn't really stick with it for very long. Technically I have an account over there now, but I haven't done anything with it. Maybe I'll make it a mirror of this blog eventually, idk.

Come to think of it I also blogged a lil' bit on DeviantArt back when that site didn't suck, though mostly those entries had something to do with art.

How Do You Write Your Posts?

I write on my laptop, typically just in regular old Notepad, before transferring it to the html page on my site. Sometimes I write it directly in the html editor to be perfectly honest. And other times if I'm feeling fancy I might actually pull up LibreOffice or even Google Docs to write it up.

When Do You Feel Most Inspired To Write?

Not as often as I'd like, really, but usually it's if an event of some note, big or small, has happened, i.e. the dog did something naughty but also hilarious (my little chicken nuggie thief), or a hurricane came through, that sort of thing.

On the other hand, I still need to write about evacuating for Hurricane Milton last year. I have my notes but sitting down to pull it all together still feels overwhelming. I'm not sure when or if I'll get to that one.

Do You Normally Publish Immediately After Writing, Or Do You Let It Simmer?

Mostly I publish right away. And then I notice a mistake, edit it, rinse and repeat a time or two. Why I only notice mistakes after I publish is beyond me but it never seems to fail. If I don't publish right away I'm likely to never publish it, or by the time I get around to it it won't seem timely.

What’s Your Favorite Post On Your Website?

Oh geez, um. Probably Stop, Thief!, from when my goofball dog managed to steal a chicken nugget out of a closed box of them! It was so hilarious I couldn't even be mad.

Any Future Plans For the Website? Maybe a redesign, changing the tag system, etc.?

I'd love to figure out an easier way to push updates to the blog to my site without having to manually make a whole new page of html every single time, but honestly I have no clue where to begin with that sort of thing. And lol. "Tag system"? What tag system? I don't even know how to implement one. Like I've said, this is a pretty informal blog for the most part, so I've never really even thought about a tag system. But I like the idea. Hmm. 🤔

Your Turn!

I kinda hate tagging people for this stuff, so I'm just gonna say if you feel inspired to answer these questions for yourself, go for it! And drop me a line somewhere and let me know; I'd love to read your answers. :)
